Erica Devine M.A. Hons., PG. Dip. is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Durham University. She studied ancient history and archaeology, historic and archaeological object conservation.
She has worked for the National Trust in the UK, the National Museum of Ireland and managed the archaeological laboratory of the largest archaeological contractor in Ireland, Margaret Gowen & Co.
Erica lectures regularly on conservation and has taught students in UCD. She has advised clients such as Dublin Castle, Kilkenny Castle, Fingal County Council, Malahide Castle, Waterford Museum of Treasures, Croke Park Museum, Reginald’s Tower Museum, Bunratty Castle and private clients, on the care of collections.
Erica has spoken on national radio and television about conservation and published articles on the care of collections. She regularly advocates for the decorative arts [example].
Erica advises a number of private collectors on the care of their collections and has trained their house staff in conservation housekeeping. She is the conservation officer for Dublin Decorative and Fine Arts Society [ www.dubdecandfine.ie ].
